About Niguel Shores
Niguel Shores is a gated community in Dana Point's Monarch Beach area, just south of the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel. It spans both sides of Pacific Coast Highway: its main gate on Mariner Drive and its first tracts sit inland, while the community center, Beach Bluff Park and many of the custom-home streets sit on the ocean bluff. The Laguna Niguel Corporation bought the land in 1965, the master association formed in 1969, and the subdivision report for the first tract, Tract 6935 (Broadmoor Homes), was filed in 1970. The community center opened in 1973, and the association rebuilt its clubhouse in 2009.
Most homes are single-family, with the Sea Terrace townhomes under two sub-associations of their own. The community center holds a pool, a spa, tennis, pickleball and bocce courts, a playground and a clubhouse, and Beach Bluff Park connects to the public beach walkway below. Visitors enter through the staffed Mariner Drive gatehouse, or at any vehicle gate with a pre-registered entry code. The sand below the bluff is public beach.
